On 19 December 2018, SCB organised its first SCB Christmas Lecture. Keynote speaker was Ms Julie Bynens, Secretary-General of Flanders’ Department of Foreign Affairs, and former representative of Flanders to the EU and the UN in Geneva. Ms Bynens’ keynote presentation focused on Flanders’ approach to the realisation of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
SCB’s chairman, Kurt Deketelaere, started the event with a presentation of SCB and its activities over the past year.
Ms Minou Esquenet, Alderwoman of the city of Bruges, highlighted the efforts made by and the challenges for the city of Bruges, to become a sustainable smart city.
